Florian Oelmaier is Proxy-Holder, Head of the Cyber Security Department, and Head of Cyber Operations & Research. He specializes in current attacks on applications and networks as well as security concepts in software projects (engineering technology) as well as security challenges in cloud environments, mobile, IoT and production devices (operational technology).

Florian pursues a fundamentally threat-oriented approach to security. After studying computer science, he was involved in the development of security technologies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits and subsequently worked as an IT security specialist at a major German bank. As a security consultant, he designed security architecture for numerous IT projects at large companies and managed the implementation of security source code reviews and penetration tests. In addition to these preventive measures, Florian Oelmaier is an IT expert who has played a key role in the investigation of computer crime (ransomware, business email compromise), industrial espionage, white-collar crime, and other criminal offenses. He has taken over the crisis management for several distressed software projects and supported companies as an IT crisis manager.

Florian is a member of the Cyber Security Expert Council of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). He regularly publishes articles in various magazines on topics relating to IT security, is the author of several books (most recently "Krisenfall Ransomware", published by Springer Vieweg Verlag, Edition) and one of the authors of Corporate Trust’s "NSA Report", which analyzes the activities of intelligence services. He gives lectures and keynotes at various events and is the initiator and co-founder of the MCTTP, an international cyber security conference, sitting on its program advisory board.
